AICTE sponsored 2nd National Staff development programme:

AICTE sponsored 2nd National staff development programme on “Herbal Drug Analysis” was organized by Shaheed Bhagat Singh College of Pharmacy, Patti, in the year 2009. The programme was focused on recent technological advances in the field of herbal drug analysis. The programme was inaugurated by Dr. N.P. Singh, Dean Academics and Examination, PTU, Jalandhar who highly appreciated the institute for organizing such a unique programme for the faculty development. Sh. Rajesh Bhardwaj, Managing Director, SBS group of institutions, graced the occasion and hoped that programme will prove successful in updating the teaching skills of Pharmacy teachers. Dr. S.H. Ansari, Dean Jamia Hamdard University along with other resource persons from various disciplines of pharmacy like Dr. Rakesh Morya, CDRI Lucknow, Dr. T. Sen, Yadavpur University  Kolkata, Dr. Puneet Gupta, Senior oncologist, Apollo Hospital Delhi and Dr. P.K. Tiwari, NIPER Chandigarh gave valuable insight on various techniques and advancements in the field of herbal drug analysis

NATIONAL LEVEL SEMINAR AT SBS COLLEGE OF PHARMACY, PATTI

A three-day National level Seminar titled as “Latest Trends in Herbal Medicine” sponsored by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi was organized by Shaheed Bhagat Singh College of Pharmacy, Patti from 30th June to 2nd July 2006. Eminent scientists who delivered guest lectures included Prof S.H.Ansari, Prof. A.M. Ismail, Prof Santhamarai, Prof. R.K.Khar, Dr Anupam Sharma, and Dr. K.L. Bedi. Dr. Hayat M. Mukhtar, Principal Shaheed Bhagat Singh College of Pharmacy, coordinated the seminar. The inaugural ceremony was started by lightening the candle by the worthy Chairman, S.B.S. Group of Institutes, Sh. Ram Iqbal Sharma, Managing Director, Mr. Rajesh Bhardwaj, Executive Director, Mrs. Mridula Bhardwaj. More than fifty participants from different states like Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh J&K, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Delhi participated in the seminar.

   
   

NATIONAL LEVEL STAFF DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME

 Institute organized a two weeks National Level AICTE Sponsored Staff Development Programme on “Challenges and Techniques Involved in Standardization of Herbal Drugs” for pharmacy teachers from 16th December to 29th December 2006. The programme was intended to provide in-depth teaching and learning strategies. The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Brahma Singh, OSD (Horticulture), Rashtrapati Bhawan, New Delhi, who complimented the institute for organizing such a unique programme for the benefit of faculty. Mr. Rajesh Bhardwaj, MD of the institute graced the occasion and urged the participants to make full use of the resources. Dr. Hayat M Mukhtar, Principal and Coordinator of the programme presided over the function and informed the participants and delegates about the need of such programmes.


Intensive practical and theoretical sessions were conducted to insight into the objectives of education and various strategies of teaching and learning process. Prof. (Dr.) S. H Ansari, HOD, Pharmacognosy and Phytochemistry, Jamia Hamdard University, New Delhi along with other resource persons from various disciplines of Pharmacy like Dr. A N Kalia, Ex. Head, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, MDU Rohtak, Dr. P Gupta, Senior Consultant, Medical Oncology, Apollo Hospital, New Delhi, Dr. NN Mahadevan, Dr. SS Ganti, Dr. M Ali, Dr. F Jalees, Dr. Sayeed Ahmed presented their valuable lectures. The resource persons spoke on various techniques and recent trends in standardization of herbal drugs. The programme was concluded with feed back and views from the participants and felicitations to the resource persons. Dr. V. K. Arora, Registrar, PTU, Jalandhar was the Chief Guest on the concluding day. In his address he emphasized on the need of research based programmes to be conducted. The other dignitaries included Sh. Ram Iqbal Sharma, Mr. Rajesh Bhardwaj and Mrs. Mridula Bhardwaj, Chairman, Managing Director and Exec. Director of SBS Group of Educational Institutes, respectively.
