and Punjab Technical University (PTU) Jalandhar Sponsored 4th National Seminar on
"Biotechnology & Pharmaindustry” was organized by Shaheed Bhagat Singh College of
Pharmacy, Patti from 28th - 29th January 2012. The programme was focused on recent
scenario on Biotechnology and Pharma Industry. The programme was inaugurated by chief
guest, Dr. Syed Akhtar Hussain, HOD of Biotechnology, Jamia Milia Islamia, New Delhi
who highly appreatiated the institute for organizing such a programme. More than
100 delegates from Punjab, UP, HP, J&K, Rajasthan, Delhi & Haryana participated in
the seminar. Dr. Sayeed Ahmed, Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi, Dr. A. N Kalia, Director,
Herbal Drug Research, ISF college of Pharmacy, Dr. Syed Akhtar Hussain HOD of Biotechnology,
Jamia Milia Islamia New Delhi, Dr. R S R Murthy, Director (Academic) ISF college
of Pharmacy, Dr. N. K. Jain DBT, Govt. of India, gave valuable insight on various
techniques and advancements in the field of Biotechnology & Plant Tissue Culture.
Dr. Hayat M. Mukhtar, Principal & Convenior coordinated the programme. Chairman Sh.
Ram Iqbal Shrama, said that such programme provide insight into the objectives of
education. In his address, Sh. Rajesh Bhardwaj, Managing Director, SBS group of
institutions, proposed a vote of thanks. Mrs Mridula Bhardwaj Executive Director,
SBS group of institutions well assure that such a programme will be continued in
future also.
AICTE Sponsored national seminar “Drug Discovery Techniques and Challenges” DDTC
2009:
AICTE sponsored 2nd National Seminar on “Drug Discovery Techniques and Challenges”
was organized by Shaheed Bhagat Singh College of Pharmacy, Patti, from 13th-15th
November, 2009. The programme was focused on recent technological advances in the
field of Drug Discovery. The programme was inaugurated by Mrs. Parneet Kaur w/o Cabinet
Minister Mr. Adaish Partap Singh Kairon who highly appreciated the institute for
organizing such a unique programme organized by AICTE, New Delhi. As many as 50 delegates
from Punjab, UP, J&K, Delhi and Haryana participated in this seminar. Dr. S.H. Ansari,
Dean & Head, Jamia Hamdard University, New Delhi along with other resource persons
from various disciplines of pharmacy like Dr. Vimal Kumar, Nirma University, Gujrat,
Dr. K. A. Suri, IIIM Jammu, Dr. Vimla Devi, C.E.O. Aero Pharma Pondicherry, Dr. Pulok
Mukherjee, Director, School of Natural Products, Jadavpur University, Kolkata and
Dr. Rakesh Morya, CDRI Lucknow, gave valuable insight on various techniques and advancements
in the field of Drug Discovery. Dr. Hayat M. Mukhtar, Principal and coordinator of
programme introduced the resource persons of the programme as well as topics for
plenary lectures. Mrs. Parneet Kaur highly appreciated the institute for organizing
such a unique programme in this remote area. Exec. Managing Director, Mrs. Mridula
Bharadwaj said that such programmes provide insight into the objectives of education
and role of new techniques for Drug Discovery. Managing Director, Sh. Rajesh Bhardwaj
proposed a vote of thanks. Chairman, Sh. Ram Iqbal Sharma presided over the function.
National Level Seminar at SBS College of Pharmacy, Patti 2006:
A three-day National level Seminar titled as “Latest Trends in Herbal Medicine”
sponsored by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi was organized
by Shaheed Bhagat Singh College of Pharmacy, Patti from 30th June to 2nd July 2006.
Eminent scientists who delivered guest lectures included Prof S.H.Ansari, Prof. A.M.
Ismail, Prof Santhamarai, Prof. R.K.Khar, Dr Anupam Sharma, and Dr. K.L. Bedi. Dr.
Hayat M. Mukhtar, Principal Shaheed Bhagat Singh College of Pharmacy, coordinated
the seminar. The inaugural ceremony was started by lightening the candle by the worthy
Chairman, S.B.S. Group of Institutes, Sh. Ram Iqbal Sharma, Managing Director, Mr.
Rajesh Bhardwaj, Executive Director, Mrs. Mridula Bhardwaj. More than fifty participants
from different states like Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh J&K, Maharashtra, Tamil
Nadu, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Delhi participated in the seminar.
